Shadow

Shadow is a reclining ceramic figure sculpted in black charcoal clay, exploring the female body through an elongated, simplified silhouette. The low, horizontal form shifts between recognizable anatomy and abstraction, revealing a different composition from each side.

Left largely unglazed to preserve the raw, charcoal surface of the clay, the sculpture is punctuated with glossy black glaze accents. The contrast between matte and reflective areas adds depth and emphasizes the irregularities and tactile quality of the surface.
