Terra

Terra is a reclining ceramic sculpture in red clay, shaped through folds that loosely suggest the female body. Brown glaze details move across the raw surface, accentuating the curves and irregularities of the clay while leaving much of its natural texture exposed.

Hand-built as part of the Folded Series, Terra explores the point where a flat slab of clay begins to resemble a body through folding, bending, and movement. Its elongated silhouette shifts between figure and landscape depending on the viewing angle.
